Christmas is just around the corner and that means summer holidays which also means that your favourite cafe will be shutting down for a bit. But don’t panic, we’ve come up with some handy caffeinated ideas that you can use at home or on holidays.

Option 1

There aren’t many of us who lug our espresso machine, grinder and other coffee essentials on holidays. It’s just too much hassle. An easier retro option is to pack a plunger and some ground coffee then all you have to do is add water and plunge away! If you’re into exact quantities etc here’s the super-correct way to make incredible coffee while you’re away…

Plunger Brewing Method:

  1. Spoon approximately 10g of pre-ground coffee per serve (roughly one heaped tablespoon) into the plunger.
  2. Fill your plunger with water that’s just below boiling (90-95 degrees) and sit the plunger head on the top of the water.
  3. Brew for 3-4 minutes
  4. Plunge away and enjoy!
Top tips:
  • Make sure you serve the coffee immediately. Do not let it sit as it will continue to brew.
  • It’s important to choose the right coffee to plunge which is why we’ve created our Plunger Bundle – find it here…

Option 2

If you’re not into plunging then why not try a more modern take on portable coffee making with an Aeropress or V60 appliances?! Simple and painless, these gadgets will fit easily into suitcases so you can have a great morning coffee without any hassle.
